Si chiama Club Derrière il nuovo Speakeasy della Capitale. L’apertura è prevista per il 10 ottobre (ha aperto il 13 novembre 2014). La location? Il retro (da qui Derrière) di Osteria delle Coppelle, ristorante-bar dallo stile retrò che ha inaugurato una settimana fa a piazza delle Coppelle. Il club avrà un ingresso esterno, laterale, e uno interno occultato da un finto armadio.
Ai “mixer” ci sarà Patrick Pistolesi, uno dei top world bartender. Finalista alla Cocktail World Cup 2012 in Nuova Zelanda e secondo classificato al Nikka Perfect Serve 2013 – competizione mondiale di bartending – col suo “Rise & Shine”, Patrick sa come mettere in piedi uno spettacolo di mixology, senza però sacrificare un servizio impeccabile. Pistolesi, passato dai banconi dell’Hotel Adriano e del Morrison’s, ora a tempo pieno al Barnum Cafè, cerca sempre di creare un legame particolare con i clienti perché, come dice lui, “senza empatia diventa solo un altro drink, in un’altra serata, in un altro locale dei tanti”.
E il Club Derrière promette di non essere “uno dei tanti”. Anche qui sarà d’obbligo la parola d’ordine all’ingresso, come è in uso negli Speakeasy. Speriamo solo non tradisca le aspettative come il The Jerry Thomas Project, il primo che ha aperto i battenti a Roma nel 2010.

It’s called “Club Derrière”, the new Speakeasy in Rome opens in October
It’s called Club Derrière the new roman Speakeasy. The opening is scheduled for October 10th. The location? The back (hence Derrière) of Osteria delle Coppelle, retrò restaurant-bar that opened last week in downtown piazza delle Coppelle. The club will have an external lateral entrance and another one internal concealed by a fake closet.
All the “mixer” there will be Patrick Pistolesi, one of the world top bartender. Finalist in the Cocktail World Cup 2012 in New Zealand and runner-up at Nikka Perfect Serve 2013 – global competition bartending – with his “Rise & Shine”, Patrick knows how to set up a show of mixology without sacrificing impeccable service. Pistolesi, who’s worked at the benches of the Hotel Adriano and Morrison’s Pub, now full-time at Barnum Cafe, always try to create a special bond with customers because, as he says, “without empathy becomes just another drink, another night, another local of many”.
And the Club Derrière promises not to be “one of many”. Here, as well, there will be mandatory at the entrance, as it is used in the Speakeasy. Let’s just hope it will not betray the expectations such as The Jerry Thomas Project, which first opened its doors in Rome in 2010.
